Started the day in our B&B in Halesworth. 5 star accommodation and cooked breakfast.

Left 09:30 and admired a deli in Halesworth after 5 minutes but too soon to stop sadly 🥲, but that didn’t stop us stopping for coffee at Emmett’s deli in Peasenhall after an hour. We’ve bought gifts and food online from Emmett’s for several years but this is the first time we’ve visited. Too many tempting foodstuffs to buy but we bought a tiny gift for a friend we are meeting in London.

Perfect cycling weather and we cycled for miles on quiet country lanes along the National Cycle Network number 1 route. We could cycle two abreast for much of this. We passed through many quiet villages. Some well-heeled properties along the way: “The Old Barn/ Granary/ Byre/ Rectory/ Manor/ Farm etc, immaculately renovated with his and hers RangeRover/Defender parked on the weed-free gravel drive 🙄🙄.

Lunch outside the Woodbridge Town Hall. Anna popped into “Woodbridge Violins” to buy some cello strings. She’s bought from them before but never visited. Then a quick look at the Tide Mill.

After Woodbridge there was a slow tedious trip through the suburbs of Ipswich. It seemed like we had been passing road signs saying “Ipswich 2 miles” for well over two miles 😂. However it was a good well signposted cycle route. Staying tonight in a chain Penta Hotel and eating out in the Marina quarter.
