Part III: Here we are in October 2024. This starts the third segment of our extended and delayed cycle trip along the River Po. To recap:-

Part I: in October 2022, Anna and I cycled up to the source of the River Po in the Mont Viso national park in the Alps and then we followed the River Po as far as Chivasso (after Turin).

Part II: In April 2024, we were joined by our friends Ruth & Masoud on their first ever cycling trip. They have e-bikes as they were not confident of their cycling ability (neither were we really as the furthest they had cycled was 8 miles with us 🫣). However, they delighted themselves and us and enjoyed cycling up to 80 km a day 😳! We made it as far as Ostiglia at which point we had to finish the trip as Ruth needed to go back for an unexpected family bereavement.

Part III: So here we are, back in Ostiglia and staying in the same lovely B&B (thank you, Livia) and having dinner at the same restaurant serving “tigelle” and “Gnocco fritto”.

Tomorrow, we set out hopefully to complete our cycle journey along the Po, to explore the Po Delta and then island cycle-hop across the Venice lagoon to stay on the Lido and visit Venice (on foot). 🤞🏻
